A Back to Basics approach for your child’s treatment

Children often require a special touch. As a
family-oriented health provider, Back to Basics
provides therapy and instruction for some of
the more sensitive problems children can face.

With services provided under the gentle
guidance of Francine Noël-Ford, Doctor of
Physical Therapy and Certified Manual
Therapist, Back to Basics is dedicated to
a more personal approach that won’t
intimidate children. Although we do have
the latest technology, we don’t over-rely
on machines.

For individual therapy, your child receives one-on-one attention from experienced, licensed therapists – in private rooms to help your child feel more comfortable.

Conquering incontinence

There aren’t many problems more embarrassing to children than incontinence. At Back to Basics, we gently help them through it, assuring them that it’s not uncommon – and that it can be overcome.

Our licensed therapist will provide a thorough exam of the pelvic floor muscles using surface electromyography (sEMG) and biofeedback. Then we’ll start a program of reeducation to fine-tune muscular control.

We’ll encourage your child to keep a bladder diary to identify areas for improvement and to track progress. We’ll also investigate possible dietary triggers to identify foods and drinks your child should avoid.

With this program, we’ll meet with you and your child once a week for six to eight weeks. The cost is reimbursed by most insurance plans with a referral by your child’s physician.

Because we all get bad breaks

When skateboards, treehouses and monkey bars lead to sprains, strains and fractures, we’re there to aid the healing. Back to Basics provides a range of orthopedic therapies to children that help get them back into play faster.
